Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between pebbles and gravel?
Pebbles are rounded as they come out of a water environment. Gravel is rough and misshapen and has been crushed and screened. Both come in various sizes and shapes.
What is the recommended depth of gravel for a garden bed?
50mm thick is recommended.
Should I lay weedmat before gravel?
Yes, it’s a must! We stock both woven plastic weedmat or geo textile fabric which is a sturdy, commercial grade matting.
Are all lawn seeds the same?
There are hundreds of species of grass seed. The home gardener will often buy whatever seed they find on the shelf, however, most seed won’t grow well in our Tasmanian climate. We stock a blended grass seed that is perfect for our gardens (call us for the recipe).
